Persistent Light Reactions From Buclosamide

John N. Burry, MB, MRCP(E)

Arch Dermatol. 1970;101(1):95-97.

Abstract

Two cases of localized persistent light reactions from buclosamide (ingredient of Jadit [United Kingdom]) are reported. These reactions have been created on areas of skin easily protected against light and which could be cleared by complete shielding and reproduced by exposure. It is postulated that the allergen in these cases was formed by the effect of ultraviolet light upon buclosamide retained in the dermis.
