Abstract
A 41-year-old white man had Cushing's disease and sarcoid granulomas, predominantly over his knuckles. This seems paradoxical because of the beneficial effect corticosteroids have on sarcoid. Through a series of preoperative endocrinological studies it was determined that his Cushing's disease was due to idiopathic hyperfunction of his adrenal cortices. Surgical excision of the adrenal glands confirmed this impression and also brought about dramatic partial resolution of the sarcoid nodules.
