Abstract
Bone pain in a 63-year-old housewife was associated with the onset of nodular panniculitis. Biopsy of an osteolytic lesion in the tibia revealed a sterile chronic inflammatory process. Four similar instances of inflammation in the intramedullary fat in patients with idiopathic panniculitis have been reported previously. This skin and bone involvement is not readily distinguishable from that seen in patients with pancreatitis.
