Abstract
A case of the ectopic adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) syndrome associated with malignancy and Cushing's syndrome was established by the recovery of an ACTH-like polypeptide from a metastatic cutaneous nodule. This communication emphasizes the capacity of neoplasms to produce a variety of hormone-like substances, and reviews the clinical and laboratory features of the ectopic ACTH-syndrome.
