Familial Dyskeratotic Comedones

Sergio J. C. Carneiro, MD; Jerry E. Dickson, MD; John M. Knox, MD

Arch Dermatol. 1972;105(2):249-251.

Abstract

Four members of a family had comedo-like lesions in which distinctive dykeratotic changes were found histologically. After studying the familial aspect of this disease, with discussion of the differential diagnosis, we have given it the proposed name, familial dyskeratotic comedones. To our knowledge, these are the first such cases reported in the English literature.
