Abstract
A patient had necrotizing vasculitis induced by a contact dermatitis to gold. Repeat patch tests to gold leaf confirmed the diagnosis. The migratory-inhibitory test and the lymphocyte transformation test were negative to gold. Cryoprofibrin levels were elevated, indicating increased intravascular coagulation. Urinary excretion of gold was 16 times higher than normal.
