Allergic Contact Dermatitis From Ethyl Sebacate in Haloprogin Cream

Alan R. Berlin, DO; O. Fred Miller, MD

Arch Dermatol. 1976;112(11):1563-1564.

Abstract

• A 13-year-old girl developed contact dermatitis to haloprogin (Halotex) cream. Patch tests incriminated ethyl sebacate, a solubilizer, as the allergen. To our knowledge, this is the second reported case of contact dermatitis attributable to this substance.
