Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus Associated With Melanoma and BCG Vaccine Therapy

Abstract

Abnormalities in host immunologic defenses may be associatedwith melanoma and lupus erythematosus. In two patients, cutaneouslupus erythematosus developed in the course of melanoma. Immunoglobulindeposits and complement were seen on direct immunofluorescenceof exposed uninvolved skin. One patient was undergoing immunotherapywith BCG vaccine when the eruption occurred.
