Rubinstein-Taybi Syndrome

Cutaneous Manifestations and Colossal Keloids

Victor J. Selmanowitz, MD; Matthew J. Stiller, MD

Arch Dermatol. 1981;117(8):504-506.

Abstract

• There are many cutaneous abnormalities in the disorder consisting of mental retardation, broad thumbs and great toes, and characteristic facies known as the Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome. The findings highlighted in this case report are numerous and include, particularly, a tendency to form keloids, hypertrichosis, unusual dermatoglyphics, seborrheic dermatitis, and a possible increased susceptibility to dermatophyte infection.
