Diffuse Lipomatosis and Tuberous Sclerosis

Abstract

• Diffuse lipomatosis, a classic example of an infiltratingfatty tumor, is a rare entity characterized by infiltrationof adult-type adipose tissue into skin, subcutaneous tissue,and muscle. It usually involves a large portion of an extremityor the trunk. Some cases are associated with distant lipomasor angiomas, or hypertrophy of subjacent bone. The associationof diffuse lipomatosis with tuberous sclerosis is reported.
