Symposia for Teaching Dermatology to Primary Care Physicians

Abstracts Presented at the Sixth Winter Meeting of the Residency Curriculum Exchange Group, February 13, 1996, Washington, DC

Ponciano D. Cruz, Jr, MD

Arch Dermatol. 1996;132(9):1091-1092.

Abstract

For the last 6 years, an informal group known as the Residency Curriculum Exchange Group has met concurrently with the annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology to share and discuss ideas and experiences that are relevant to dermatologic education. The Exchange Group's concerns at inception were limited to residency education (hence its name) but have since expanded to include teaching dermatologic practitioners, medical students, and nondermatologic physicians. Five realms of involvement have been defined within its purview: curriculum development, teaching strategies, faculty development, modes of evaluation, and transmission of information.
