Diminished Tuberculin Reaction After Oral Calciferol (Vitamin D2)
STANLEY E. HUFF, MD
Arch Dermatol. 1963;88(5):521-528.
Abstract
In certain tuberculin-sensitive individuals the tuberculin test was found to be diminished or absent after the oral administration of calciferol (Vitamin D2).
Photomicrographs of the reactions after calciferol reveal less edema, less infiltrate, and more localization of the infiltrate about the blood vessels and dermal appendages.
Various factors affecting tuberculin sensitivity are discussed.
