Intradermal Triamcinolone Therapy of Keratoacanthomas

DONALD J. McNAIRY, MD

Arch Dermatol. 1964;89(1):136-140.

Abstract

Triamcinolone infiltration inhibits further progression and speeds involution of solitaryand multiple-type keratoacanthomas.

Further evaluation of similar materials and procedures may eventually establish a new concept in the clinical diagnosis and therapy of these self-healing neoplasms.

Mandatory close cooperation and observation must be considered an essential with this technique. Failure to obtain proper therapeutic response demands surgical intervention and biopsy study.
