The Topographic Anatomy of Human Skin

Abstract
A plastic impression technique was used to study the surface of the skin. Regional, age, and sex differences are described. Atypical patterns were most often seen in infants and adults over 45 years of age. Individual variation was greatest in patterns obtained from the face.
