Abstract
Acute guttate psoriasis, particularly in children and young adults, is frequently preceded by an acute streptococcal infection occurring about one to two weeks before the onset of the cutaneous eruption. This particular association has been well documented in the Scandinavian literature but not in the American. The consideration of some instances of acute guttate psoriasis as manifestations of the poststreptococcal stage provides a logical approach to the prevention of recurrence.
