Abstract
A case report of a 47-year-old Negro woman with the rare eruptive variant of multiple keratoacanthomas is presented. Unusual features in addition to the vast number of active lesions include their development on palmar and plantar surfaces as well as in her larynx. Keratoacanthomas in all stages were studied and the histopathogenesis discussed. Attempts to isolate a causative virus and induce new lesions with ultraviolet light were unsuccessful. Treatment with systemic cytotoxic agents, including aminopterin and methotrexate, resulted in a minimal and transitory response.
