Cutaneous Nodular Elastoidosis With Cysts and Comedones

Cases in Women

Arch Dermatol. 1964;89(6):798-802.

Abstract

Two cases of cutaneous nodular elastoidosis with cysts and comedones (Favre-Racouchot's disease) in women are reported. Both patients also presented other cutaneous degenerative processes.

The disease affects preferentially old people, and the great majority of previously reported patients have been European males. Only a few cases have been recorded in American countries, and until this date probably only one observation of the condition in a woman has been published. Perhaps a systematic search would reveal a greater incidence of the disease in America and in women.
