Parenteral vs. Oral Folic Acid Antagonists

ROBERT AUERBACH, MD

Arch Dermatol. 1964;90(6):553-557.

Abstract

Parenteral methotrexate is an effective medication for controlling severe psoriasis.

The necessary clinical and laboratory precautions discussed above must be carefully followed.

Parenteral methotrexate was successful in patients in whom oral aminopterin or oral methotrexate did not clear the psoriatic lesion.
