Abstract
The clinical features of berloque dermatitis are briefly presented. A test procedure is described which is capable of deliberately reproducing the erythema and pigmentation of berloque dermatitis in susceptible individuals. The reaction could not be elicited in control subjects who had not previously experienced berloque dermatitis. Theories concerning the mechanism of photosensitization which is clinically manifest as berloque dermatitis are discussed.
