Treatment of Cutaneous Vaccinia With Idoxuridine

A Double-Blind Investigation

Abstract

Topical application of idoxuridine in ointment base previously used with good effect in cutaneous herpes simplex infections did not significantly affect the course of inoculated vaccinia in human beings. The investigation, which comprised 25 persons, was performed on the double-blind control principle. .
