Immunity of the Oral Mucosa in Epidermal Sensitization to Mercury

L. EDWARD GAUL, MD

Arch Dermatol. 1966;93(1):45-46.

Abstract

Three cases are reported in which epidermal sensitivity to mercury was demonstrated, producing clinical examples of dermatitis. In all three patients silver amalgam dental fillings, initially containing approximately 50% metallic mercury, caused no irritation within the mouth.
