Keratosis Circumscripta

ALAN B. SHRANK, MA, BM, BCh (OXON), MRCP

Arch Dermatol. 1966;93(4):408-410.

Abstract

A dermatosis seen in 11 children, all Nigerians of the Yoruba tribe, is described. There were sharply defined areas of diffuse and follicular hyperkeratosis on the hands, feet, elbows, knees, and trunk. It may be a genodermatosis inherited as an autosomal recessive trait. Although the clinical picture is similar to Mal de Meleda, there are sufficient differences to merit recognition as a separate entity.
