Podophyllin-Salicylic Acid Solution in Treatment of Basal Cell Carcinomas

Abstract
Four hundred ten basal cell carcinomas were treated by a procedure of curettement and the application of a podophyllin, salicylic acid solution. Eighty-four of these lesions were on the distal portion of the nose or the immediately adjacent cheeks, where the recurrence rate was 13%. The over-all recurrence rate was 5.1%. Therapeutic failures were limited to the face and ears.
