The Association of Sarcoidosis, Erythema Nodosum, and Arthritis

B. T. WOOD, MD; C. H. BEHLEN II, MD; P. E. WEARY, MD

Arch Dermatol. 1966;94(4):406-408.

Abstract

Sarcoidosis may occur in a "subacute" form. At times erythema nodosum and arthritis accompany the pulmonary hilar adenopathy in such cases and contribute significantly to the patient's signs and symptoms. Five cases of patients with this syndrome are reported, and the cutaneous aspects of the cases are emphasized. The concept of subacute sarcoidosis is reviewed, and the interrelationship between the components of the syndrome is discussed briefly.
