Tumbu-Fly Myiasis in Marshfield, Wis
WILLIAM F. SCHORR, MD
Arch Dermatol. 1967;95(1):61-62.
Abstract
A patient with myiasis caused by infestation with larvae of the Tumbu fly or Cordylobia anthropophaga was recently seen in central Wisconsin. This apparently represents the second such case to be reported from the United States. While Tumbu-fly, or "Ver du Cayor" myiasis is a disease of tropical Africa, modern air travel can bring truly tropical diseases to all parts of the United States.
