Abstract
The second proved case of superficial cutaneous infection with Trichophyton soudanense in the United States is reported. The local source of the infecting organism, which is native to Africa, is not known. Infection of the glabrous skin with T soudanense is clinically similar to cutaneous infections with other dermatophytes and is readily curable with a modern, topical fungicide.
