MY first thought was, "That's his credentials? He taught an art class?" But on further review, hey, Dr Hay, I can relate.
When I was a kid and went to the doctor, I loved to check out all the diplomas on the wall. I had no idea what those pieces of parchment meant, but for me at least, along with white bucks and the smell of disinfectant, they were an integral part of a physician's aura. I was particularly impressed by Gothic lettering, gilt medallions, and dead languages.
