We read with interest the article "Treatment of Chronic Urticaria With Ketotifen" by Egan and Rallis¹ in the February 1997 issue of the ARCHIVES. In Turkey, ketotifen fumarate has been used for a long time. It is a safe therapeutic agent used on a large scale, from urticaria and atopic dermatitis to allergic rhinoconjunctivitis and pediatric asthma. We have been treating many children with atopic dermatitis with ketotifen in our dermatology and allergy department. For almost 10 years we have used it not only for children with atopic dermatitis, asthma, chronic idiopathic urticaria, and allergic rhinoconjunctivitis, but also in some patients with cholinergic urticaria, cold urticaria, and food allergy. In light of our clinical experiences, we want to emphasize some points about the article by Egan and Rallis:
