Basing themselves upon five cases, the authors came to the conclusion that the disease known in horses under the name of castration fungus (champignon de castration) is also met in human beings. In one case the writers succeeded in cultivating and inoculating with success the specific microbe of the disease obtained from a patient upon an ass. The microbe resembles the staphylococcus.
