ISSUES OF ethics and morality in personal and professional life have increasingly occupied the attention of our country during the past few years. Such topics are often not easy to discuss and at times may be ignored because they are so difficult to confront. To sidestep examining these fundamental values as they apply to medicine and to dermatology does a disservice to ourselves, our patients, and our profession. In this issue are several contributions that discuss ethical issues in medicine.
