Why Isn't a Commercial Sex Worker a Prostitute?
To the Editor.I have no statement to make about the scientific content of the article by Nelson et al.1 I would, however, chastise Nelson et al for further contributing to the sterilization of the English language. I find the use of the term commercial sex worker just a trifle too bland and a touch squeamish. No one should object to the use of the word prostitute in a medical journal.
