REPORT OF A CASE
A 51-year-old white man was referred to our clinic by a dermatologist for evaluation and treatment of a slightly elevated erythematous lesion on the anterior aspect of the right side of his palate. He admitted to having noticed a "rougher" feeling in this area for 2 weeks, but he had no pain and had not sought medical advice. His medical history revealed that 43 months earlier a lump on the right side of his neck had been resected by an otolaryngologist. Histologic examination confirmed that the tumor was a metastasis of an unknown primary malignant neoplasia.
