Successful Treatment of Flat Warts Using Intralesional Candida Antigen

Intralesional Candida antigen in the treatment of common warts has provided a new approach to the management of recalcitrant verruca vulgaris. Several authors have presented results using this approach for resistant warts, with good results.1-2 To date, there have been no reports or studies in which this modality was used for the treatment of facial flat warts, a challenging condition because of the location and typically high number of lesions. Warts that are unresponsive to standard therapy can be treated with intralesional Candida injections. We report the use of intralesional Candida antigen to successfully treat facial flat warts.
