REPORT OF A CASE
A 61-year-old man presented with multiple asymptomatic skin-colored papules on the dorsal aspect of his hands and wrists. The lesions had begun to appear 4 to 5 years earlier and had gradually increased in number over time. His medical history was significant only for papillary thyroid carcinoma, which had been diagnosed in 1990 and for which he had been treated with thyroidectomy and radiation therapy. On presentation, his thyroid function was normal and he had no systemic complaints. Laboratory tests, including serum protein electrophoresis, urinary protein electrophoresis, and determination of thyrotropin, free thyroxine, thyroglobulin antibody, triglyceride, and cholesterol levels, revealed no abnormalities. His only medication was levothyroxine sodium.
