The assessment of quality of life in dermatology patients has gained increased attention in the past decade.¹ This trend can be observed when we evaluate the number of articles published and indexed by MEDLINE using the specific MESH terms quality of life, quality of life and skin diseases, and Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI)² in different year periods (Table 1). The number of articles published increased considerably in the past 4 years. It denotes the recognition by the dermatology scientific community of an increasing interest to assess more globally the impact of skin diseases in the health of patients.
