Based on footprint and thickness, Dermatology Quick Glance is slim enough to fit inside the pocket of a white coat. It is a review book in that it condenses information that can be used for examination preparation. But unlike typical review books, it is expertly put together and useful well after dermatology residency education is concluded.
Condensed books of salient facts commonly succumb to one of several problems. Sometimes, in trying to be complete, they include too much information, material that everyone knows and does not need to read. Other times, complex concepts may be organized obtusely, so that while they are in a compact format, they remain difficult to understand. Books of facts are also often rife with errors, which may not be of crucial importance but are disheartening and detract from the readers overall confidence in the text.
