Papules and Plaques on the Nose—Quiz Case

REPORT OF A CASE

A 64-year-old man presented with a 5-year history of nonpruritic and nontender lesions on his nose. The lesions had previously been treated with electrodesiccation but had recurred. The patient's medical history was unremarkable. His only medication was a daily multivitamin. He denied any constitutional symptoms.

Physical examination revealed tan to pink waxy papules and plaques involving the left nasal ala, right nasal sidewall, and bridge of the nose (Figure 1). The results of the rest of the skin examination were normal. An incisional biopsy specimen was obtained from a papule on the bridge of the nose (Figure 2).
