REPORT OF A CASE
A 37-year-old, left-hand–dominant man from Kenya presented with a 1-year history of a growth on the right fifth finger. It had been essentially asymptomatic until 2 months before he presented to our clinic because the lesion had become painful and tender. He denied a history of trauma, discharge, bleeding, or other similar lesions. The lesion was an 8-mm firm keratotic papule with a prominent collarette of scale involving the medial and proximal nailfold of the right fifth digit (Figure 1). Excision and partial nail avulsion were performed to remove the lesion (Figure 2 and Figure 3).
