Question: How effective and safe is adalimumab compared with methotrexate in patients with moderate to severe psoriasis?

Design: Noninferiority randomized controlled trial.

Setting: Multicenter trial performed in hospitals in Europe and Canada.

Participants: A total of 271 patients with moderate to severe psoriasis were randomized. Moderate to severe psoriasis was defined as affecting 10% or more of the body surface area and giving a Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) of 10 or higher. All patients were naive to tumor necrosis factor (TNF)–antagonist therapies and to methotrexate. Fifteen patients were lost to follow-up after randomization, and 256 . . .
