To the Editor.—
Tappeiner and Pfleger1 reported six cases of granuloma glutaeale infantum in 1971. Clinically and histopathologically, our cases are very similar in nature to the cases of Tappeiner and Pfleger. However, in our cases, the lesions were not situated in the gluteal region but in the genitocrural, thigh, and penile regions. Therefore, we called the condition "Kaposi sarcoma-like granuloma on diaper dermatitis."2
As pointed out by Dr. Robert Jackson, our clinical findings have a close resemblance to those of the papular form of papulolenticular erythema (posterosive syphiloid of Silvestre and Jacquet). According to one text,3 erythema of Jacquet is divided into four types: (1) simple erythema; (2) erythematoulcerating form; (3) papular or posterosive form; and (4) ulcerating form.
