First International Symposium on Histocompatibility Antigen and Disease.—
This symposium will be held from June 23 through 25,1976 at the Palais des Congrès in Paris. Chairmen will be Dr Jean Dausset and Arne Svejgaard. The secretaries are L. Degos and J. Hors.
The association of histocompatibility antigen (HL-A) with numerous diseases is now well documented. The clinical implications of recent discoveries on nosology, diagnosis, prognosis, and even prevention will be discussed by clinicians and biologists.
Several workshops (rheumatology, dermatology, gastroenterology, allergy, immunopathology, endocrinology) will cover the different facets of this new approach to epidemiology and hereditary diseases. The possible mechanisms and biological significance of association will be considered by geneticists, virologists, and immunologists.
Proceedings of the Symposium will be published by Munksgaard (Copenhagen) in a book covering the fundamental as well as the clinical aspects of these associations.
