The solitary nodular form of nevus lipomatosus cutaneus superficialis is uncommon. The site in the 21 cases reported in the literature was the upper thigh in eight cases,^1-3 the buttock in seven cases,^1-3 the lower back in two cases,¹ and the axilla,¹ arm,¹ ear,⁴ and scalp⁵ in one case each. There is no apparent sex predilection for this condition. The age when the lesion was first noted was available for 16 patients, and it varied from 19⁵ to 64¹ years, including two cases that occurred in the fourth decade and four cases each that occurred in the third, fifth, and sixth decades.^1,3 The clinical diagnosis was of a variety of benign lesions, most commonly nevocellular nevus and fibroepithelial papilloma.
