Recently, exchange plasmapheresis has been used successfully to treat several diseases believed to be caused by circulating autoantibodies. These results suggest that the procedure might be useful in the treatment of dermatitis herpetiformis, a disease in which immune complexes have been detected in serum samples.¹ We have recently treated a patient who had dermatitis herpetiformis by plasmapheresis with encouraging results. . . .
