I think that the diagnosis proposed by Boddicker¹ in case 2 of the RESIDENT'S PAGE in the November ARCHIVES should be discussed.

So far as I know, apocrine sweat glands are found on the prepuce and on the penile shaft, but normal or heterotopic apocrine glands have not yet, to our knowledge, been reported on the glans penis. The cystic lesion shown in Boddicker's article is most probably a dysembryoplastic raphe cyst of the penis. Penile raphe cysts may show the same anfractuous cavities lined by a cuboidal and columnar epithelium of entodermal origin, with some papillary projections extending into the cavities. They occur mainly along the ventral aspect of the penis shaft in young adults, but also on the glans penis near the urethral meatus as in cases 2 and 5 in the publication of Asarch et al,² who emphasized that "cysts of the . . .
