We would like to thank Dr Binet for his interest in our case report.
Binet et al' showed a deposition of immunoglobulin in both skin and colonie cancer by direct IF technique, but their patient did not show detectable circulating BP antibodies. In our case, using a complement IF technique, we demonstrated not only that the serum of our patient had circulating antibodies reactive with skin and TCC, but also that the serum samples from other patients with BP disclosed no fluorescence at the BMZ of the TCC.
As our report had been accepted on Dec 1, 1982, we unfortunately could not cite the letter to the editor published in New England Journal of Medicine in 1983.
