To the Editor.—
It has come to our attention that one of the photographs (Fig 3) chosen to illustrate the prominence of skin markings in an area of regressed melanoma in our recent article1 is from a case of Dr Y. Miki's. It had been published previously in Iconographia Dermatologica in 19642 and had become a part of our teaching collection courtesy of Dr Miki's having graciously provided a slide to one of us (T.B.F.). This figure should have been clearly labeled as distinct from the Melanoma Clinical Cooperative Group cases upon which the analyses in the article were based, and its origin should have been credited to Dr Miki. We regret any confusion that may have occurred in this matter.
