To the Editor.—
In the February ARCHIVES, Vickers1 wrote that he did not find "data on... [iron deficiency as a cause of generalized pruritus] in American textbooks."
In at least one American textbook,2 reference is made to reports of iron-deficiency pruritus by Liewicki and by Vickers himself. To be sure, data are not included, but this does not seem a reasonable expectation in a textbook. Not all American textbooks are guilty of this omission.
