REPORT OF A CASE

A 41-year-old woman was first seen at The Johns Hopkins Ambulatory Care Unit, Baltimore, for the treatment of "warts" on her face and hands. The lesions first had appeared about ten years prior to evaluation and had gradually increased in number since that time. Her general health was good, but she was being treated for depression, allergic rhinitis, and possible Sjögren's syndrome. A benign cyst had been removed from the patient's breast several years earlier.

Physical examination revealed a moderately obese woman with an adenoid facies. Numerous 1- to 2-mm pearly and flesh-colored dome-shaped papules were distributed over the patient's face, especially around her mouth, nose, and ears (Figs 1 and 2).
