To the Editor.—

Histiocytosis X (HX) with involvement of the skin and mucous membranes as the only manifestation of the disease is rare.¹

We report herein a case of a 32-year-old man with skin lesions resembling molluscum contagiosum and genital lesions simulating multiple chancres of the penile shaft without any apparent systemic involvement.

Report of a Case.—

A 32-year-old man with unremarkable medical and family history and in good general condition was seen on Sept 16, 1985, complaining of asymptomatic nodular lesions on the skin and penile shaft that had progressively appeared for one year. Eleven skin lesions were detected on examination. They consisted of painless nodules 3 to 8 mm in diameter, hard elastic, red-brown, with a smooth (Fig 1) or ulcerated surface.
