With this issue, the ARCHIVES' circulation will include the entire specialty. The American Medical Association (AMA) is sending this journal free of charge to virtually all skin-care specialists and dermatology trainees in this country, irrespective of their membership in the AMA. Through a change of policy, all AMA specialty journals are being distributed in a similar manner to almost all members of the respective specialties. This exciting development has obvious positive implications for both the authors and readers of the ARCHIVES, and for our specialty as a whole. With this enlarged constituency we will serve an even wider diversity of scientific and professional interests, and coincident with this, realize the necessity more than ever to publish only the highest quality material. The constant honing and refinement of the editorial process, and of the format of the journal are intended to meet these challenges.
